I love essential oils
The more I use Young Living's therapeutic grade essential oils, the more convinced I am that God definitely had intent when He created plants. Essential oils contain the life blood, intelligence, and vibrational energy that equip them with the healing power to sustain the life of the plant....and help people who use them. In the last 10 months, I have experience the unparalleled, divine healing capabilities of essential oils, both emotionally and physically.....and since body, mind and spirit are connected, it is important to address all areas of our lives to bring about the balance needed for optimum health. I have experienced saving a tooth from the fate of a root canal or extraction, with absolutely no further problems. I have seen my daughter diagnosed with a tumor on her pituitary and then one month later confirmed that it was completely gone. I am experiencing the miracle of a new little grand-baby on the way....and my daughter will have the joy of motherhood.....all with the help of Young Living's therapeutic grade essential oils!

Essential Oils
Since I've been doing research on natural health, I've learned about essential oils....the life blood of plants, created on the third day of creation. Since man was created on the sixth day, it was almost as if God knew we would need help to stay healthy or to restore health if illness takes hold. I started using therapeutic grade (meaning that they are so pure we can ingest them) essential oils at the beginning of this year and I will never be without them. There is a single oil or blend for all kinds of physical and emotional conditions. I use the oils every day and have noticed a significant emotional balancing....coping with the stresses of life is so much easier. They are also preventive by raising the body frequency to a point where sickness can't take hold. Many of the oils are antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor....and the list goes on. I had a tooth infection that I dealt with using only a blend called "Thieves" that contains clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary. My daughter had a tumor on her pituitary that went away with the help of Frankincense oil which is highly anti-tumoral. Life will never be the same (in a very positive way) now that I have discovered essential oils.

Juicing
I love juicing.....it tastes so good and is a powerhouse of nutrition. I started juicing in Dec of 2010, after doing some research on the benefits of juicing and comparing the multitude of different juicers on the market. I ended up buying a L'Equip wide-mouth model. It is so easy to use....just wash and drop into the juicer. Carrots (peel if not organic) are the base vegetable for me, followed by celery, cucumber, parsley, kale and usually a little fruit such as an apple or pear (I cut out the seeds) and a few grapes. Cleanup is a breeze....compost the pulp, wash and rinse each of the five components and place on a drying rack or tea towel to dry. Juicing supplies an excellent source of good living enzymes with pure water and nutrients. Since there is no fiber, it will bypass digestion, so you still need to consume some whole fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Fresh juice gives you 75 - 93% of nutrient value, compared to 1 - 45% value from whole, raw foods. Even my 3 year old grandson loves fresh juice and since they now have a juicer and no longer buy canned apple juice, he will ask for fresh juice and help make it. What a perfect age to get a little one started on good life long nutritional habits. Juicing is now part of my daily routine and I never worry that I'm not getting enough vitamins and living enzymes.

Raw Foods
I've come to realize that drugs are not the answer. Most people are quick to run to the doctor at the first sign of any physical distress. Although I'm grateful for doctors, we have to realize that they are limited and within the confines of what they are taught, which is pharmaceutical drugs and surgery. What if we started with prevention instead of relying on treating symptoms, which of course doesn't get to the root of the issue)? What I've learned is that it is totally possible to never get sick...how? By focusing on diet the way God designed. Raw, as close to nature as possible, foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts. In our modern world, we depend on processed foods from the grocery store and fast foods from restaurants. But eventually these chemically-laden, nutritionally void foods will take a toll on our bodies and result in all kinds of problems. By starting to eat predominately raw, wholesome foods, we are giving the body the tools and building blocks it needs to get and stay healthy. I know I'm hooked on raw and learning more each day about how to incorporate raw foods into my diet in interesting and delicious ways. Give it a try....you will be pleasantly surprised.

The Basics
There are some basic things we need in order to enjoy excellent health. The foundational blocks for living not only a disease-free life, but also enjoying life to the fullest without being stressed out and exhausted, are a nutritionally sound diet, plenty of quality sleep, exercise and fresh air with lots of sunshine and contentment. Balance is the key and we need to be well nourished physically, emotionally and spiritually. Most often we overlook the mental/emotional aspect of our lives. But is that wise? It is actually true that stress causes illness and so it's important to nurture ourselves emotionally as well by allowing time for relaxation and engaging in activities that give us pleasure. In addition, positive relationships help us to feel loved, wanted and purposeful in our ability to give to others. So nutrition is not just about the food we put into our bodies, but also how we feed our minds, spirits and souls. The question is how does one achieve this optimum balance in a world that moves so fast that life sometimes seems to spin out of control? The answer can be broad and seem complicated, but it can also be quite simple....by taking control one step at a time.

Our amazing bodies
Did you know that the body has the amazing ability to heal itself if given the right tools? Do we really need chemical drugs to treat illness and disease? If you think about pharmaceutical drugs, for the most part, they only treat the symptoms and don't address the underlying cause of those symptoms. And how many people actually are healed of their ailment by simply taking a drug? It is my belief that our food system has gone pathetically awry. We fill our bodies with chemically processed, genetically modified, sugar-laden foods that have very little nutritional value and then we succumb to all sorts of sickness, from colds and flu to chronic illness to life-threatening illness. Then we run to the doctor or pharmacy for more chemicals to attempt to feel better. In actual fact, if we would take a hard look at what our bodies are attempting to function on, it is no wonder so much sickness prevails. God provided us with every plant-based food we need to keep our bodies functioning well and free of disease. I have learned that it is vital to focus the diet predominantly on fresh (organic, when possible) fruits and vegetables and stay away from processed foods, junk food, sugar and artificial sweeteners. By incorporating this approach to eating into every day, it is amazing how well the body functions. And interestingly, once you start to do this, your body will not tolerate the junk and you will lose the desire to eat in an unhealthy way.
Starting out
I have always enjoyed good health and I suppose I just took it for granted, as many of us do. But several years ago, I started to not feel as well. It was a general feeling when I got up in the morning, that I just wasn't as energetic and it started to concern me as I need a lot of energy for my job. Also, at that time in my life, I was approaching the dreaded menopause and I started to not sleep very well. So I started on my quest to find answers to what I could do for myself to restore that overall well being that I always enjoyed. At first I looked into herbal supplements and vitamins and of course did the research. Well, let me tell you, when you start to research you find an infinite amount of information on the internet and what I have learned is absolutely priceless. It has lead me to an awareness that we all need to be our own health care provider. It is within each one of us to take control of our own health. It has changed my view of food, pharmaceuticals, vaccines and lifestyle choices. It is my intent to share topic by topic what I have learned and what we can all do to achieve and maintain optimum health as we were originally designed to do....God's way.
